Dr. Heather Flores
Dr. Heather Flores founded 805 Counseling and Consulting in the aftermath of various personal adversities and losses, making her highly empathetic to the plight of others. Taking the pain of the past, she decided to build a truly firm and secure legacy for her children and her family, one built in unbiased love, grace, and mercy. Her motto is one of unconditional love and acceptance for whomever walks through her doors. Jesus did not come to heal the healthy, but the sick. He said in Mark 2:17 "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners," and if that includes anyone, it includes everyone. No matter what you've done, where you've been, or who the world calls you, God calls you loved. Chosen. Forgiven. Accepted. Yes....YOU.
Dr. Flores is an Ordained Minister and holds a Doctor of Divinity (D.Div) from Summit Bible College, a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D) from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles, and has completed various extracurricular trainings that include certificate work in dream analysis and existentialism at Sigmund Freud University in Vienna, Austria.
Dr. Flores' professional career has consisted of extensive training, both biblically and psychoanalytically. She has treated a vast and diverse population of individuals struggling with mental, emotional, and spiritual distress. Specific populations of clinical proficiency include children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), acutely psychotic adult men and women, impoverished individuals in a community mental health setting, adults diagnosed with HIV, adolescents and adults battling addiction, and those diagnosed with neurocognitive disorders. She worked briefly on Maui in the school districts and returned to the mainland to push boundaries in forensics. Specifically, she performed competency evaluations for courts in Bakersfield, California in cases of adult males deemed incompetent to stand trial. From there, Dr. Flores began treating men and women convicted of sexual offenses before transitioning to West Texas where she worked in the federal prison system. Eventually, however, she made her way back home to California to embrace her roots in pastoral counseling, life coaching, and consulting where she created 805 Counseling and Consulting. In this practice, she offers not only pastoral mental health counseling and life coaching, but also contracting and consulting for businesses seeking to improve staff retention.
In her spare time, Dr. Flores enjoys reading, trying new foods, writing/blogging, exercising, and spending time with family. She is consultant and counselor to many, but uses any down time to spend it with her husband and family.
Dr. Flores no longer holds an active registration to practice psychotherapy in California, and makes no claims to provide such treatment. She provides life coaching and faith-based, pastoral counseling only and utilizes a biblical counseling model for all mental, emotional, and spiritual matters. Since the practice's inception, Dr. Flores has also become an ordained minister through Universal Life Church, thereby qualifying her to all rights and privileges to perform all duties of the ministry.
Mission
The mission and purpose of 805 Counseling and Consulting is to empower men, women, couples, families, and even businesses to take the pain and mistakes of yesterday and discover meaning and purpose from them. From there, we are able to turn the page and write a new and more fulfilling narrative for the future.

Our company's foundation is intertwined in the belief that in Christ Jesus, we can all be firmly rooted and secure. In the Greek language, the word corresponding to the number 805 is Asphalizo, which translates: "to make firm, secure." Asphalizo is the bedrock and foundation of our purpose and mission. We aim to help you become firm and secure through your pain, challenges, loss, and hardship. When Dr. Flores lost everything she knew, loved, and relied on through her obedience to love as Jesus loves, she discovered not only the deepest pain of her life, but also the promise of God to bring beauty out of ashes (Isaiah 61:3). Through loss, she discovered gain, in chaos and confusion, she found purpose, and in adversity, she grew stronger and more secure in Christ than ever before. This steadiness, firmness, and security can only be found through the hardships and trials that bring us into counseling. Isaiah 43:1-3 says this—
he who created you,
he who formed you,
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
You will make it. This circumstance will not overtake you. You have a God who loves you, chose you, and has amazing plans for you. Where you are is not where you're going to stay and you didn't cross paths with 805 Counseling and Consulting on accident. You're here for a reason and your destiny awaits. Dr. Flores will walk you through the valleys of life until you're empowered to walk in firm conviction and a secure identity. Freedom awaits, you just have to take the first step!
Vision
Our vision at 805 Counseling and Consulting is to see every person who walks through our door become the most empowered version of themselves possible. Most people seek counseling only after they've tried everything else, so we're aware that you've probably knocked on our door as a last resort, but we couldn't be more excited that you found us because this is where your road to recovery and healing begins. Our goal is to help you discover your own inner warrior so that our services are no longer needed, but we'll be here for as long as you do need us - whether it's a month or years to come, we're so grateful to be entrusted with the care of your heart, mind, spirit, and soul.
